Yesterday I told you about the off the panel comments that Joe Quesada had to say about Marvel movies with female leads. Today I bring you more no on the panel comments. Reporter Abby Chandler who writes for the Badhaven site states Quesada told her that:

A script for a Ms/Captain Marvel movie is ready to go. They just needed an actress. Marvel are having a meeting in a couple of weeks and will be ready to announce some films then … He said we’d be pleasantly surprised.

I made an angry post yesterday about Quesada’s remarks (doesn’t matter, he’s still a prick) and had it queued but this is great, great news. Really hope it actually gets off the ground.

My casting choice would be Anna Torv :P

And re: Carol’s new costume…Eh, I guess it’s okay. It’s infinitely more practical, but I don’t like the gloves or the short hair. I also wish that they would have just kept the yellow/black/red color scheme instead of using a Superman-ish color scheme. The lightning bolt insignia is iconic, so I don’t know why they got rid of that.

Super heroes need to smile more. Cheer up, guys, you’re saving the world. I mean seriously, why wouldn’t Tony Stark custom weld a fixed smile into the Iron Man helmet? I almost always draw super heroes smiling and floating around clouds. I always think, “Maybe I should just draw a serious face this time,” but then, “Nah.” I guess it’s just my Silver Age fixation, but I liked it when most of the super heroes were pals and fought crime more frequently than each other.
